FAQ

What are diopter eyepiece lenses? How do I determine the one I need?

Many Minolta SLR cameras hava a built in diopter adjustment. For cameras without built in adjustment the use of special eyepiece correction lenses is possible.
If you wear eyeglasses when shooting, you can substitute an eyepiece diopter accessory to make shooting more comfortable. Minolta makes two series of eyepiece diopter correction accessory attachments. Eyepiece Correction for the Minolta manual focus cameras and for Dynax autofocus cameras.

Correction values for both series are available in (diopter): -1.0, -2.0, -3.0, -4.0, +0.5, +1.0, +1.5 , +2.0, +3.0.

Selecting a diopter: Minolta cameras have a standard -1.0 diopter in their viewing systems.

1. Find the diopter of the eyeglass the user is wearing.

2. Factor in the -1.0 of the viewfinder system.

Example 1: +0.5 is needed > Use +1.5 diopter to achieve this.

Example 2: -2.0 is needed > Use -1.0 diopter to achieve this
