FAQ

Why do new cameras have a Film Chamber Lock?

The introduction of the film chamber lock was a major advance in film-handling safety. Used first with the Advanced Photo System cameras like the Vectis series, this important film protection is now available on newer Riva Zoom cameras and Dynax 3L, 4, 5, 7 cameras and Dynax 40 and 60. When film is loaded in one of these cameras, moving the backcover release will not open the backcover. In the some of the Riva Zooms the indication "CLOSED" will be displayed on the LCD panel. Once the film is fully rewound into the film cassette the chamber lock will open and the film can be safely removed. Film camber lock can be deactivated (see instruction manual).
