Thanks to larger senstive area than 1/1.8 type CCD device, each pixels on 2/3 inch-type CCD can have greater capacity when it senses light. The richer the data capacity is, the greater the dynamic range becomes. In addition, the size of CCD contributes to higher zoom ratio, providing less depth-of-field which enables naturally soft focus effect especially at telephoto.
