On a digital SLR the image sensor is only exposed after pressing the shutter release and the mirror has flipped up. Therefore on the Dynax 7D and 5D no live picture is possible. As an alternative you can use a viewfinder accessory called ZigView, which has an mini video camera and a LCD monitor. It is even useable on film SLR cameras.
