What does the two letters mean, that are printed on the front of some Minolta MF lenses mean?
Many Minolta lenses have an letter designation printed on the front, such as Rokkor-X 35mm HH. This letter designation refers to the optical make-up of the lens.
The first letter refers to the number of groups in the lens:
T=3;
Q=4;
P=5;
H=6;
S=7;
O=8;
N=9.
The second letter refers to the number of elements in the lens:
C=3;
D=4;
E=5;
F=6;
G=7;
H=8;
I=9;
J=10;
K=11;
L=12.
