FAQ

How can I imprint the date?

With this model, the date can be imprinted with the following procedures. 1. Date imprint function Select 'YYYY/MM/DD' or 'MM/DD/hr:min' of 'Date imprint' in the recording mode menu before recording. The date or date and time will be imprinted in the lower right corner of the image. The date once imprinted cannot be erased. Please note that the dates may overlap and become hard to see if the following setting 2 or 3 is performed simultaneously. 2. DPOF*-Print Select 'Date print - on' of DPOF set in the playback mode menu. This function is to print the date of capture with a DPOF compatible printer at a photofinishing service. The original image remains as it is, and the date is overlapped only at printing. Therefore it is suitable for the user who want to print an image with the capture date but does not want to imprint the date in the original image. The printer and the photofinishing store need to support DPOF. This function may not be supported depending on a printer and a photofinishing store. How the date is printed varies with the printer and store. For details, please refer to the instruction manual of the printer or contact the store. 3. PictBridge Select 'Date' of 'Data print' in the PictBridge** menu. This function is to print the date by directly connecting the camera to a PictBridge compatible printer. Same as the above mentioned DPOF, the original image remains as it is, and the date is overlapped only at printing. This function may not be supported depending on a printer. PictBridge may be able to be set up by the printer side. For details, refer to the instruction manual of the printer. 4. DiMAGE Master Lite Select the imprinting setup option from the tool menu. The date and time can be imprinted at the selected corner or within the selected area and printed out. The imprinted image can be saved. Also the font and color can be specified. The fonts and scripts available vary with the computer system. For details, refer to the instruction manual of the DiMAGE Master Lite. *DPOF is short for Digital Print Order Format. It is a format to save in a memory card and to enable specifying the image and the number of prints while checking the images on digital cameras. * *PictBridge is a standard that allows connecting a digital camera directly to a printer without a PC, enabling direct printing. Direct printing using PictBridge is possible if the both of the camera and printer support the PictBridge.
