FAQ

What is the Digital SHO?

This feature automatically adjusts just the tones of either shadows or highlights in the image. Shadow correction: Shadow correction compensates tones of dark areas of the image without changing the tones of the bright areas. Since only the dark areas are automatically adjusted and the tones of the bright areas are kept the same, the tones in overly dark areas can be reproduced. This feature is effective for reproducing images with blacked out areas as can happen when shooting against the light. Highlight correction: Highlight correction compensates tones of bright areas of the image without changing the tones of the dark areas. Since only the bright areas are automatically adjusted and the tones of the dark areas are kept the same, the tones in white-washed-out areas can be reproduced. This feature is effective for reproducing images with white-washed-out areas. *Applied only to images that have 8-bit color depth. Both shadow and highlight correction can be set at once.
