FAQ

When Ni-MH battery capacity became low (low battery warning), lens malfunction occurs. Is it failure?

The battery performance decreases if the batteries are often recharged. Please use new batteries. Supplement: When the battery became low to the B.C. lock level: 1. Lens does not retract fully. 2. Lens repeats extending and retracting. 3. Lens moves a little and stops and then moves a little and stops. When the battery is low, the camera can be activated but enough current may not be supplied. This situation causes the above malfunctions. This symptom is known in many DSCs, because a digital camera requires large power consumption at starting up, and the power rapidly drops. And then the camera judges this change that the battery may be removed from the camera. (This symptom is found in some DSCs of competitive companies.) Although DiMAGE 7 employs a system which avoids incorrect detection of B.C. lock level, it has a demerit that users have to wait for several seconds after removing until re-inserting.
