FAQ

What differs between multi-segment metering and spot metering?

Each has the following characteristics. Super Multi-segment: The DiMAGE F100/F200/F300 divides the screen into 256 segments to obtain the metering data needed to ensure good exposure control calculating subject distance and color information. This mode is suitable for general scenes including back-light condition to expose the subject naturally. Spot Metering: In spot metering mode, the camera calculates the optimum exposure for the spot area at the center of the image. This function is useful to obtain correct exposure for contrasty subject or very limited area of the subject.
