The AS image stabilisation works with all Konica Minolta AF lenses*. Therefore you can use all kind of lenses with this added feature (large aperture fixed focal lenses, wide angle lenses, macro lenses, megazoom lenses). You do not have to pay for this feature on every single lens. The optical quality is not reduced due to an Image Stabilisation element inside the lens and the lens can maintain very compact. You can use a large aperture lens (e.g. 85 mm/1.4) for extreme handheld light photograhy. There are no lenses available with built in image stabilisation offering this large aperture. * exception: 3x-1x macro device
