The shutter sound is relatively loud on the Dynax 7D/5D.
When a mirror is fully damped (no noise) - it is because energy is absorbed into the body. The mirror and shutter appear quite noisy in order to reduce body internal vibrations which could affect the motion sensor of the AS-system.
