The connection to the scanner failed.


Check first if your scanner or camera appears in your device manager. ((Start>Settings>Control Panel>System>Device Manager). USB 1.Check if the scanner is turned on. 2.Disconnect all other USB-devices. 3.Connect the scanner direct with your computer without a USB-Hub. 4.Check if your USB-Controller is installed correctly (if it appears with an exclamation mark in the device manager it is not correctly installed). In this case reinstall the driver for your USB-Controller. 5.Update the driver for USB-Controller. Check the name of the manufacture of your USB-Controller (e. g. VIA) and install the latest version of the driver (e. g. http://www.via.com.tw). For further in formations about the driver update please review to the manufactures website. IEEE1394 1.Are you using Win 98? Win 98 does not support IEEE1394. 2.Check in the device manager if your IEEE1394-controller is OHCI compatible?
