On what situation has 5400 dpi scanning an advantage compared with the conventional 2820dpi or 3200 dpi scanners?


Following advantages are achieved by scanning at high resolution:
Fine images are assured in large print size. For example, a fine image can be printed out at 400dpi on A3 paper (329mmx483mm) without fringe, as well as at 200dpi with general inkjet printer on A1 size paper.
Higher quality image is obtained by scanning in high resolution, compensating and resizing than 2820dpi or 3200dpi scanners in the same finished pixel size.
